The only time masturbation becomes the direct cause is only during a short duration of time right after masturbation. How did this myth spread?
For this question, “How does excessive masturbation change penis size?”, there are no exact reason how the myth arose. One possibility is that teenagers that started to masturbate have misunderstood that masturbation is causing their penis to grow dramatically; meanwhile puberty is the real cause. Another possible reason is the stereotypes of male porn stars and advertisements of penis enlargement supplements and devices. As I said above, there are many ways of increasing the penis size while masturbating and this might have lead teenagers to misunderstand that masturbation is the directly causing the penis to enlarge while the supplements and the devices are the cause (Patil, 2013).
